HackRisk looks at your business from the outside, the way an attacker would, and shows you what they could find. This page explains how to start, what the free report gives you, and what to do in your first few days.

Start with your free HackRisk Report

The free HackRisk Report is a one-off scan of your organisation. There is no commitment, and you don't need to pay anything to see it.

To request it, you give us:

  • your first and last name
  • your company name
  • your work email address
  • your consent for us to scan, confirming you are authorised to do so and agree to the terms

The domain of your work email is the domain we scan, so use an address at the organisation you want assessed.

Before we scan, we ask you to activate your account from an email we send you. This confirms you belong to the organisation being scanned. If you don't activate it, we don't run the scan.

What the free trial includes

Your free report comes with 14 days of access to the HackRisk portal, so you can review your results at your own pace.

During the trial:

  • Your results are partly hidden. For each service, you see the five most serious issues we found.
  • You get a summary of each service and the risk level it found.
  • You can generate a short HackRisk Report from the dashboard, covering every active service. In the trial this report is partly hidden too.
  • Supply Chain Risk is fully available, so you can start inviting suppliers straight away.

To see your complete results and switch on continuous scanning, you need to subscribe.

What happens in your first few days

Once your account is activated, we start scanning and send you a short series of emails to guide you through the portal.

  • Straight away: you receive a welcome email. Your scan is under way and results are normally ready within 24 hours.
  • Day 1: your report is ready. Log in to the portal to see it.
  • Day 2: an email with quick wins to improve your score.
  • Later in the trial: short emails about Supply Chain Risk, adding team members, Recon Scan and Dark Web Scan, plus reminders as your trial nears its end.

What to do first

  1. Activate your account from the email we send you.
  2. Log in once your report is ready and open your dashboard. See Reading your dashboard for how to read it.
  3. Start with the highest risks. Work through the issues the dashboard puts first.
  4. Invite a supplier through Supply Chain Risk, if suppliers matter to your business.
  5. Add colleagues who should see the results.

Upgrading

You can upgrade from inside the portal at any time during your trial. The emails we send contain links that take you from login straight to checkout.

Subscribing unlocks your full results and continuous scanning, so HackRisk keeps checking your business every night. You can also subscribe directly from the HackRisk website without taking a trial, although we recommend starting with the free report.

If you don't upgrade: HackRisk Lite

If your trial ends without a subscription, your account moves automatically to HackRisk Lite, our free plan.

With HackRisk Lite:

  • You keep access to Supply Chain Risk.
  • Dark Web Scan, Recon Scan and Vulnerability Scan are restricted.
  • Training and Phishing is not included.

You can upgrade whenever you are ready.
